Thankful Stomach

To report for an early shift could put one in a good mood to whine at times. Trust me, I have some days when I fight back the desire to make an emergency call to the boss so I can then curl on the bed for God-knows-how-long.

Today is one of those days.

Anyhow, with some mental nagging, I finally stumbled out of the bed, then out of our room and found goodies all ready to take with me to the office.

Now, who can not stop whining when a pack of home-cooked meal already sits on the table waiting for me?

So today, I’m thankful for the hands that prepare good home-cooked meals for me - for us. I’m thankful for my mother’s love always.

Happy Chickday

Having added one more candle to the cake a couple of days ago, I have nothing more fitting to say today than how grateful I am for my life.

Sprinkled with disappointments, mine is definitely not perfect. But I’m just happy that for every disappointment, Someone Up There always makes sure to double up the triumphs.

So despite the heartaches, back aches, additional few lines under the eyes, veins visibly creeping behind my knees, etc…, it is good to be alive.

I’m thankful for a wonderful Mama Chick who carried baby chick inside the womb for 9 months and  spent hours huffing and puffing in the Delivery Room more than 3 decades ago. She - who has always taken care of this chick’s every need then and now - is a huge blessing and having her as a mother is one of my life’s greatest triumph.

On my birthday, I received  a short and fancy schmaltzy message from hubster. Nevertheless, it’s heartwarming and made me smile giggle like a schoolgirl.

He is Leading Me

I’m gathering pertinent documents  at the moment. And few days ago, there’s one certificate that I couldn’t locate. This had left me frustrated so I decided to let the matter go -but not without hoping -and yes, praying- that it will turn up before it’s too late.

Then a couple of days ago, I went inside my sister’s room to get something. I saw that one of her drawers was half opened and all sort of papers were peeking from there. To answer the mental question, no, I am never in a habit of looking into other people’s things -even if they are my sister’s (or even husband’s)  but at that time I stooped and pulled a stack. And guess what, on top was the certificate I had been looking for! (My sister had found it but she said she  forgot where she’d kept it) So there’s no other explanation except that God must have led me to it. Amazing! And I’m so grateful.

I’m also thankful that my son has recovered from flu and that his lung x-ray result  said he’s clear.

7 is A Good Number

Se7en is my favorite number - and for no special reason. So today, I’m going to list 7 things I’m thankful for (in reality, I actually have more than that to be thankful for).

 7. A favorable exam result! Yay! I already saw it and when I thought about my reading/studying marathon, I couldn’t help but be glad. What a reward! I’m so HAPPY. Thanks God for guiding me through the examinations. For those who prayed for me, thanks so so much!

 6. For a wonderful husband. I’m really touched that he wanted to get me a phone similar to my old one -but told me that he couldn’t raise the amount to pay for it from his weekly allowance (which I am giving him) in time for my birthday. *grin*

 5. For parents who are helping me with my parenting responsibilities. My mother always helps me attend to my son. He’s more than a grandmother to him.

 4. For blogging friends who always leave inspiring messages.

 3. Whoever invented the nebulizer- I’m thankful for him.  Handling asthma attacks are easier with a nebulizer

 2. For a kid named Jep-jep, who visits, entertains and plays with my son. Matt badly needs a playmate (not above 30!) and it’s great to see him enjoy someone’s company- so much so that Jep’s name constantly pops up in our converstaions.

 1. For a kid -my kid- who teaches me to become a better person. Parenting is a daunting responsibility but it’s a very rewarding one.

Grateful Thoughts for the Day

I’ve been sick very recently. Got the flu. But I’m thankful that when I got sick - it happened after the exams. Actually, the fever came right after the last exam.

I am thankful that despite croaking like a frog and barking like a dog, I was able to conduct a technical presentation and impart lessons to a number of engineering students during a seminar last Sunday.

I’m still waiting for the result of the exams and I’m praying to get favorable results next week.  Thanks to those who helped me pray.

Bless You, Bless Me, Bless Us All

By the time this gets posted, I know I’m out there taking an examination which would largely affect my and my family’s future. So may the Lord bless and guide me :-)

Life Is Beautiful

thur

I haven’t posted a Thankful Thursday entry for the past couple of weeks and it’s glad to be back.

I’ve had few concerns in the office and at home that need immediate attention. Today, I’m just glad I’m able to sneak and make this post. *grin*

I’m thankful that I’m busy - it can mean that even someone as forgetful and clumsy can be useful around the house and in the office, too. But really, I’m glad has blessed me with work and I have my faculties to function well -despite few shortcomings.

I’m thankful for the wonderful weekend we have had. My husband was home and of course, it’s always fun to have him around.

I’m thankful for family members who are always there for me -for us. Yes, through good times and not too good times.

I’m thankful for offline and online friends. They always have a way of warming up my heart with their friendship. Thanks also to Nancie for this wonderful blog bling she gave for Makimeji. I’m so touched and I appreciate it a lot.

I’m thankful to be alive. It’s good to be alive and life is so beautiful with God’s company. Praise God.
